Will the treatment work for me?

Definitely! The beauty of our tanning solution is it’s versatility. Even people who never tan naturally will see stunning results.

How is the solution applied?

Sun Labs Professional Airbrush tanning system is not a ‘hit and miss’ spray booth. the solution is applied by an assistant who can visibly check that the tan is applied evenly and accurately over your body.

What does the solution consist of?

There are two main agents in the solution, a bronzer (DHA) and a developer. The solution works in three stages:

STAGE 1: BRONZER

This gives the instant colour to your skin.

STAGE 2: BRONZER AND DEVELOPER

The developer starts to work over the next hour and your tan starts to deepen slightly as it continues to work. We advise that you don’t shower for at least 2 hours after your treatment.

STAGE 3: DEVELOPER

The bronzer will wash off in the shower and the developer will continue to work with the skins naturally occurring melanin. The resulting tan will be a slightly lighter colour than the bronzer and developer combined. By taking regular ‘top-up’ treatments your tan will remain consistent and stunning at all times.

Is it safe?

All the ingredients in our solution are completely natural. The DHA is extracted from suger cane and is recommended by the American FDA for self tanning. If you have never used self-tanning lotions before or, if you are pregnant or concerned about skin allergies, you may want to check with your GP first.

Will it last long?

Times vary from person to person – a good guide is around 5 days.

How many treatments are required?

It’s entirely up to you! Some clients want a consistent, year round tan and have treatments on a weekly basis. Others just waste a tan for special occasions. As with all self-tanning treatments, a deeper tan is achieved by regular application.

Will there be any odour after the treatment?

Our solution is virtually odourless – you may encounter a hint of Amaretto!

What should i wear during my treatment?

You should dress as you would during any solarium tanning session to avoid any unwanted tan lines. A swim suit or similar is recommended – it’s entirely up to you.

What about after?

Loose fitting clothes are recommended while the bronzer is working is working (about 2 hours). You may want to wear dark clothes to avoid any solution will wash out of most material, however , nylon and polyester may stain. After the bronzer is showered off , your tan will fade gradually over the next 6 days. It is possible that during this period some tan could transfer to light coloured garments.

Should I protect my hair and nails?

It is advised to use a headband or to tie your hair back. The solution does not penetrate the hair follicles. We do recommend that you protect your finger and toe nails using a coat of nail varnish before your treatment. this will prevent the solution soaking in to the porous nail.

TREATMENT LIST CHECK

Follow these simple steps to achieve the best results from your treatment

BEFORE

It is advisable to exfoliate your body thoroughly before your treatment. use a damp soapy flannel and rub firmly over the skin whilst in the shower.

• Pay particular attention to knees, elbows, ankles and the top of your feet. Alternatively, use Sun Labs Exfoliate Body Gel.
• Avoid deodorant and moisturiser on the day of your treatment. This can lessen the effectiveness of the solution.
• Wear the right clothing – a dark bathing suit or shorts. Ensure you have loose fitting, comfortable and dark clothing for after your treatment.
• Protect your finger and toes nails with nail varnish.

AFTER

The solution will dry instantly, however, it requires time to absorb into the skin. try to avoid showering for at least 2 hours after treatment. For best results, do not shower until the morning after your treatment.

• Avoid exercise or excessive sweating between treatment time and your first shower.
• When showering, wait until the water runs clear. Don’t be surprised if the bronzer washes off – this is part of the tanning process. Pat your skin dry after showering.
